First Ice-Hockey Goal

Well, last night I had my first goal of the season. Not only was it my first goal, but it was during the intermediate league game-which I am a substitute player-not the beginner league. I was playing right forward(wing) and the our left wing had the puck and was bring it forward. I was slightly behind and to the right of our center forward and all three of us were moving quickly towards the goal. Our left wing passed the puck to our center-a good friend of mine,Jeff-but Jeff couldn't quite get control of the puck. It was inbetween his feet and a defender from the opposing team was right on him trying to slap the puck far away. Somehow, almost accidentally, the puck slowly bounced away to the right of the goal, just in front of me. I took two quick steps forward and flipped the puck right into the goal. The goalie was caught because he was watching his defender and our center forward and must have not seen the puck move. All of this happened within only 5 seconds. I was so excited and I raised my right arm up with might because I had my first goal. I really was in the right place at the right time.

Check out our stats at www.goble.org/hahl/hahl.htm. Our Begginer team is the REGulators and the intermediate team is VANwieren. They are usually a week behind on posting to the website and my one goal probably will not be enough to get on the website either. Oh well. My teammates and I were excited and that is all that matters.

congratulations

Thanks. I almost got another goal last night in the beginner league game off of a faceoff. It was my first faceoff and I had to take it because we had a penalty. Their goalie had quick hands and caught my shot in his glove.
